From 31 March to 2 April 2023, at Umbriafiere, Bastia Umbra (PG) - 54th National Exhibition of Agriculture, Food and Livestock Farming
The supply chain will be at the heart of the 54th edition of Agriumbria, the leading fair for the world of agriculture, scheduled from 31 March to 2 April 2023 in the pavilions of Umbriafiere, in Bastia Umbra (PG), with a program increasingly geared toward the needs of entrepreneurs in a constantly evolving and steadily growing sector.
"La fi(li)era e servita" is in fact the claim of the next edition, represented by a plate containing the three pillars of the event: livestock farming, mechanization and meat, for which Agriumbria has become a national reference hub. Around the center of the plate are other elements of the supply chain, which, as mentioned, will be the theme of the next edition of Agriumbria. Specific focuses will start from water resources and their uncertain future, moving through innovation and training, and reaching the end consumer. The 2023 edition will also be the first since Agriumbria, with the signing of the agreement with the Italian Breeders Association, officially became the "Italian Meat Hub", an agreement that accompanies the Consumer Observatory. The edition is therefore expected to be rich not only in exhibitors, but also in new developments from the point of view of technology and science applied to agriculture.
In addition to the exhibition area, which as always will be divided into the various sectors of interest and return to full normality, from mechanization to farm technology, one of the fair's strengths will once again be concentrated in the outdoor rings. Here the livestock competitions will finally return, dedicated to the National Chianina Show, returning as a biennial event, the National Romagnola Show, the National Charolaise Show and the National Limousine Show, alongside the other national competitions dedicated to the various breeds. All of this will take place in close collaboration with AIA, the Italian Breeders Association, Agriumbria's historic partner, and with regional and national agricultural associations. Milktec also returns, the area dedicated to technology for the dairy supply chain; the latest technologies in machinery and equipment for milking and milk processing will be presented. Livestock exhibitions and shows, the other specialized salons (Bancotec, Enotec, Oleatec) and the exhibition areas presenting innovative solutions for technical equipment will be just some of the focal points of the fair, which will also feature a rich program of conferences, meetings and advanced masterclasses designed to bring companies, trade associations and the scientific world into a unique dialogue.
The Agriumbria Observatory
The permanent activity of the Agriumbria Observatory on national consumption of quality meat continues, having become a point of reference for the entire sector. During the next edition, data on livestock farms and consumer trends regarding certified, quality meat will be published.
The "Antonio Ricci" Award
Now in its fifth edition, the award is dedicated to one of the sector's best-known and most respected journalists, Antonio Ricci, who passed away in 2016. Antonio contributed not only to the growth of Italian agriculture, but also to the success of Agriumbria, serving for many years as one of its consultants. Umbriafiere, in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture of the University of Perugia and with Edagricole, has decided to establish the award in two sections: one for journalism, dedicated to a professional in the sector who has distinguished himself or herself in telling the story of Italian agriculture; and one for a student from any Faculty of Agriculture in Italy whose thesis has addressed the themes of environmental and economic sustainability and multifunctionality in agriculture. The award will be presented during the opening ceremony of the event.
Agriumbria, a piece of Italian agricultural history
Agriumbria was born from the successful intuition of Lodovico Maschiella, the creator of the agricultural event, and in 1969 the first "modern fair", the agriculture fair, was organized. It was an agri-livestock event aimed at promoting and developing agricultural and livestock activities in central Italy. From that moment on, each edition set a positive record, with continuous growth in both exhibitors and visitors. Today, after a long journey, Agriumbria, the Exhibition of Agriculture, Livestock Farming and Food, represents a national point of reference for enhancing the agricultural sector and constitutes a moment of discussion and reflection on the prospects and future of agriculture.
